tranny swap ?
Hey people,I have a 1977 F250 highboy 400 c.i. C6 and want to replace the tranny with a NP435 4 speed.I have purchased a 77 F250 with this 4 speed and wonder if it will be a straight swap or if I will have to cut the floorboard. The truck has everything I need clutch linkage,pedal,drive shaft etc.Any thoughts will be appreciated.Thanks Curt

Curt, the 69 and both the 71s that I've had all had a large sheet metal cover in the middle of the cab that could be unbolted to work on the shifters or transmission. The shift sticks came up through holes in that plate. If the newer trucks don't have this you will have to do some cutting. DF
