problems still.
" i am new here and hoping to find some help. i have a 2wd 2001 ford ranger v6 3.0,automatic, with around 69,000 miles on it. the problem is @ about 3500 rpm it cuts out, sometimes multiple times in a row, i changed fuel filter, and it kinda helped but not much. it isnt pulling any codes no check engine light nothing. it feels like it is trying to die. i changed the tranny fluid thinking that might be the problem but there was no metal in the pan. some ppl have suggested that it could be fuel starvation, is this possible? i really dont want it to be the tranny.
please tell me what u think is wrong. any help will be greatly appercaited."
it is only getting worse and still no codes, now it really doesnt matter what rpm it is at, weather warm are cold. now it is lossing about 400 to 1000 rpm's when it trys to die. the jerkin problem is getting anoying. ive changed all filters, fluids, and plugs and wires, and i am running outa ideas, this thing wont even give me a clue to whats wrong. still no codes.
Since the problem has gotten worse, I'd also have the computer rechecked for any set, or pending codes, even if you don't have a CEL (Check Engine Light).
If those actions don't provide a clue, I'd look to basic things, like power interrupt problems to the basic things, like the fuel pump, fuel injectors & coil pack.
If you could make loan of a scan tool, lik the Actron CP9145, from your local autoparts store, (most in my area have a "Loan-A-Tool" program for a refundable deposit), hook it up & drive until the vehicle act up, the scan tool can store & playback all of the stored data on sensors it was monitoring when the problem happens.
From that you should be able to isolate the problem to a system & if lucky maybe even the part.
Let us know what you find.
