Differences between dana 44s

What are the differences between a front 1/2ton Dana 44 and a front 3/4ton Dana 44?
I have a 77 1/2 ton.

Differences between dana 44s

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON 29-May-01 AT 11:07 PM (EST)[/font][p]Basically they are different from the ball joints out (axle shafts, gears are the same and I believe the 3\4ton has 6 bolts on the spindle and 1\2ton has 5 bolts) unless you include the closed knuckle fronts. To the best of my knowledge, they(closed knuckles) have smaller diameter axle shafts and drum brakes.The half ton axle mounts with coil springs and radius arms(except supercab half ton which are leaf spring)and 3/4 ton are leaf spring mount.
