Engine harness

Well I started to get to the injecto o-rings, and as I was tearing the valve covers off I noticed the gaskets on both sides had burnt ends on both sides. I think it is the glow plugs pins that are burnt? Also three of the four pig tails to the injectors and the glow plugs need replaced also. One plug on each side of the engine going to the valve covers on the harness are bad. Do I need to get a new harness or can I pull the wires out and replace the the plugs themselves? Does any body know how much a engine harness is? Where to get? IH said they dont carry the harness and I need to call ford monday. Should I replace the glow plugs also? Sorry for the book guys!

have a similar problem on my 99 motor. It seems to be less common than problems on the valve cover side. I am curious about the engine harness also. Anyone have any ideas?

I know the complete harness from IDM to valvecover is in the $300 to $400 dollar range.I had good luck replacing the connectors from a Extra harness I had.

Value Cover Gasket part # = Navistar(IH) #: 1818350C2; Ford # F4TZ-9D930-K.
INTERIOR HARNESS = Navistar(IH) # 1815923C92; Ford #: F4TZ-6584-A.
Exterior Value Cover connector/plug replacement kit = Navistar(IH) # 1830829C91.
Exterior Value Cover connector pins "the pins only are available in packages of 10" = Navistar(IH) # 1661875C1.

To start off thanks for the help again!!

Eiznekcm, I did find the harness finally at www.powerstrokepartsusa.com. You need to call them because it wasnt on their web site. Like Poohbear said it was $300 something. Im going to try and get just the plugs and change them out. They had valve covers and the injector plugs for a damn good price!

Plowhand thanks for the numbers it helped out but your ford numbers are backwards on the valve covers and the interier harness. When I told them the numbers we figured it out, it still helped. Tomarrow I will call IH and see if I can get the replacement plugs and pins.

If I wouldn't of found this site I'd be broke from the labor charges or selling my truck! Thanks to all again!!
