Speedo reading too fast
I have just installed 4:11 gears behing my 302 with a C6. The speedo reads about 60mph when Im going about 40mph. According to the old parts books I have, the proper speedo gear is installed but I need a reducer/adapter to reduce the speed of the cable by about 70% (actually .695 to 1). I have looked all over, can anyone point me in the right direction to locate one.

A C6 has the drive gear rolled onto the output shaft and there are 2 different shafts, 7 tooth and 8 tooth. You may have to change the output shaft to get the speedo to read correctly. If you can find a good speedo shop it is possible to have a gearbox made to add into the speedometer cable to fix the problem.
If you have a 4x4 the drive gear is in the transfer case and is replaceable.
