speedo reading high
I have a C4 tranny and I got the repo cable with the gear that was recommended by Sacramento Vintage Ford and my speedo reads 5mph slower than my acutal speed. I just keep that in mine when I'm driving, small detail as far as I'm concerned.
Check out transmissioncenter.net it gives a lot of info how to determine gears with rear end ratio and tire size. It may help or not, worth looking at.
Hey Wisconsin,
If you don't get where you want by swapping out the
speedo gears - there is a different route I learned about in
trying to get our's to work. We've got a wireless programmable speedo -
It's pretty neat. You put whatever speedo gear you want in your trans &
you put the wireless sender unit in where the cable would go on the trans. & you go out to a highway with known distance markers. You punch the setup button & drive it two miles at 45 MPH or so & it calibrates itself & you get the right speed showing on your speedometer.
This was my first experience with these programmable speedos & it certainly worked like a champ. I got mine from Egauges.
Good luck over there.
