hi ford fans, once again i am seeking help. i have a 77 highboy f250 that i am trying to restore.recently the steering started getting sloppy and i realized the steering box was shot, tried adjusting no good.however when i bought a steering box for my truck it would not work.at some point the frame has broken and was cut out a 1/4 inch steel plate was welded in place and a steering box off of a 1975 f150 was used.this box is long, nothing like the original.the plate that was welded is solid however i have concerns about using a 2wheel drive box.any suggestions of any kind will be appreciated.thanks curt
john, the 2 wheel drive box is much longer.but i am concerned with it holding up,it doesn't look as stout as the original steering box.since my frame has been cut and i can't use the original i was wondering if anyone had any ideas.
