clogging very unlikely. almost certainly an undercharge. probably needs a pound of whatever is in it. Could also be an air door (mixing) stuck on hot.

Sense you have A/C in the rear, I would say that the direction door is stuck or you blew the vacuum hose off of it. Both the Front and rear run through the same compressor with the same oil.

Sounds like a blower door problem. Check the vacuum lines. Let us know what you find out. If the problem is not the blower door, check the AC pressure on the low and high sides. It is possible that your system has two orfices, and if so, one may be partly blocked.

If I'm not mistaken, the door that controls the temp is cable driven. The directional doors are vaccum driven. The cable is adjustable. At least it was on my old 91 and I believe it still is. I had an ink pen fall down the defrost opening and got stuck at the temp door. I could not close the door all the way. take loose the cover over the hearer core to get to the door. Will the temp control move all the way from full hot to full cold?

Clogged front orifice tube would do this. Unfortunately, you would have to take down the A/C system to find out.

Uhm, not to be be obnoxious, but you do not have to open the system to isolate a plugged orfice tube. As I said, measure the high and low side pressures with the system running. A low low side, with a high high side in relation to the temperature indicates a restriction in the system. Even with rear AC, the low will be lower than normal, and the high higer than normal. I still lean towards a problem with the vacuum actuated blender door.

Actually, just turn on the system and feel the outlet pipe from the front evaporator before it goes into the accumulator. If it is cold, it supports Khaty's blender door theory. Pressures can tell you a lot but if the damn thing gets cold, pressures are probably right. also if the unit cycles normaolly on the accumulator pressure switch, pressures are probably right.

That is true, that accumulator should often get cold enough to frost over, and Ken's remarks are true. Sometimes on a system with rear AC, things can be a little harder to diagnose, but Ken's methods would tell you whether or not the front evaporator is actually getting cold, and if it is, then the problem is definately the blender door.

Passenger side foot well. Behind the glove box. Did you check for free movement of the temp control?
