a/c compressor removal 1990 f 250 5.8L

my bearing is gone on my a/c pump. the a/c never worked in the first place and because i pull a fifth wheel, i never use it anyway. If i change to just an idler pulley, can the rest of the a/c system just sit there uncharged or will it cause vaccum/sensor problems? any info would be great

you can also just get a belt for a non ac truck, and then you will not need to get an idler and fab brackets for it

Maybe,,,, the engines are equipped with either the AC Compressor or IDLER Pulley instead of compressor.
Just a shorter belt may not work.
