Help!!!!

Well I was driving to work this morning and my gear box spindle sheered in half. Luckly I was only going about 15mph when it happend or it could have gotten ugly. Now to my question...I have a f-350 psd 8" lift with 37" tires I know that puts alot of stress on the steering componets so should I just get a new steering box or should I get a steering box and a crossover steering kit? I would like to avoid this happening again. Also should I get a reman box or a new one? Does anyone know if this is a common occurence with lifted trucks or was this just a freak accident? I don't offroad much so I can't see this being because of abuse.

Any input or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Nate

If it were my truck, I'd seriously consider Dynatrac's Super Duty Combo Kit. It's big $$, but it completely fixes both the steering issues that come with big lifts and tires and the unit-bearing hubs that all of us love to hate. It includes new hubs, knuckles, crossover steering, stub shafts, locking hubs, and miscellaneous other parts, so about all you keep from the stock front end is the diff and inner axles. I'd also look into getting a performance steering box from an outfit like AGR, instead of a new or reman stock unit. If you do decide to stick with a stock box, I'd definitely go new - I haven't had much luck with any of the rebuilt ones out there.
