Starting Problems=Fuel Filter
Got rig back from dealer (replaced HPOP). Next morning wife can't get it to start.
I get home and jump the batteries. I was willing to crank it for a long period. It finally started chuggin, chuggin, chuggin, then fired. Had charging sytem checked (6 month old batteries and charging was good).
Kid at Les Schwabb says, "sounds like it's starved for fuel". Stopped at Napa got a fuel filter went home. 10 minutes later fired right up.
Hopefully I didn;t need to fill the filter chamber with fuel after I set new filter in (didn't drain all of the fuel out).
Thanks, this forum has kept me in the know.
I will always drain my filter out and every other change, I'll use some cotton swabs to clean the bottom of the bowl.
When you go to start the truck after changing the filter, turn the key to run only and listen for the fuel pump to stop running. Do that 2 or 3 times and you won't have a problem starting after a fuel cartridge change.
