IMO, the edge is a good plug and play unit, but stinks when you have to remove it.
Actually its not hard at all if you dont use the velcro or double-sided tape (if that's what you mean by removing it). I have mine firmly attached to my dash; it fits fine and doesn't slide around even without the tape/velcro.
I do know when it start to get colder out you will loose MPG then when it warms
back up you will gain when gas got high i thought I would save gas by keeping my
foot out of it I would get about 19 miles per gallon but that was doing 55 not 70
that didn't last long its to hard not to put your foot in it
I continually average between 16-20 mpg with my 04 4x2 (3.55 gears) Screw Laraiat. Took a trip last Summer from CA to CO and averaged 19.2 mpg for the trip. On that trip I was averaging 500 miles between fill-ups. I went 533 miles on one tank, that was scary. I was pretty sure I was running on fumes. The message center low fuel indicator comes on at 50 MTE, but I actually think you still have about 5-6 gallons left at zero MTE. I have yet to be able to get more than 27 gallons in my 30 gallon tank.
I seem to get about 15.5 to almost 16mpg in my truck. I can go about 410 miless on a tank full before my low fuel light comes on. I have a '05 F-150 FX4 with the 5.4 3V Triton, 3.73 gears. Thats driving half highway and city. No other mods other than true dual exhaust, H pipe with 2 flowmaster mufflers. My gas mileage did not change with putting the dual exhaust on, if anything I think I got a little worse, but it sounds great, like a mustang. In yalls opinion what is the best computer upgrade, edge, hypertech, superchips, etc.
I get roughly 440 miles per tank with 60% city, 40% highway driving. That is on a 2004 SCREW 5.4L 3.73 LS. My fillups are usually around 28 gallons, just like huitt24.
i only get around 300 miles to the tank...and this is when the "Low Fuel" light comes on. Im guessing I have an extra 100 miles left??? I have a 04 4.6 STX with just a flowmaster exhaust, silencer removed, K&N air filter, and larger tires that might effect the results...
Here in Southern California, filling up is usually about 27-28 gallons, and my computer reads on a completely full tank...385-390 miles to E. I'm not sure how accurate it is but it seems to be on the low end. On numerous occasions I have driven it to "0 miles to E" and still gotten a good 10 extra miles out of it.
I was running about 380 in the fall, added a K&N and got up to 430 miles on the first trip. then the cold weather sank in and depending on the temp outside my gas has been going up and down. Lows around 280 to an average of 350 per full tank.
the cold weather prob has someting to do with my MPG. I just added a tonneau cover as well so I should be raping the MPG. I do also have some extra weight in the bed with the(ShurTrax-400lbs). That could prob do it. I might just have to order the edge to get that better MPG
