well its coming along slowly, i am having to deal with moving and i am about to lose my nice spacious garage/20 acres of land. now i live in a B/S subdivsion where you can't park in your own grass and cant keep bottled gases (IE oxy-ace torches/MIG welding shield gas). also gettin close to graduatin college so i have been busting my **** a lil harder.

here's what i have done so far.... i've got the thing gutted basically.

i found someone in CA who had a 435/D20 adapter for $100 so i went that route, if i were to buy the adapter from a parts house they are $400! i finished rebuilding my D20 along with putting in a 32 spline heavy duty output shaft so it is ready to take a beating. while i was in there i went ahead and twinsticked it. i got the tranny t-case bolted in and now i am working on the axles. i was gonna rebuild the 435 but since i recently acquired a spare 435 i'm not so worried about it now!

in the rear i took my rear springs and i hung the shackle off the rear bumper making for a sharp departure angle considering i am working with leaves. not only did i push the axle back 11 3/4" i also inboarded them to directly under the frame. she outta flex pretty nicely! i got the perches and everything moved around and the sterling is ready to be bolted in, just need to do it.

as for the front i will be working on the dana 60 coil conversion this weekend. i've already got the brackets cut off and all. i plan to push the front axle forward a few inches as well to help distribute the weight better, as was recently discussed here. also be working on the wristed arm to allow the flex i am looking for.

as for everything else, i have just been reading and asking various EB owners questions about how and why they did the things they did. if i can find a good deal on a steering valve i'm going full hydro to keep the clutter down in the engine compartment. also got some hydroboost brakes i plan to run since those iroks are pretty heavy for that small bronco.

after i get the thing where i can roll it on my gooseneck i will be taking it to a buddy's house to work on a full cage where i plan to integrate just about everything... fuel cell, seats, seat harnesses, storage, etc. still pondering if i wanna do DOM or pipe as that azz ivan shed some light for me not long ago

i'm gettin excited esp after wheelin last weekend at grayrock! hopefully i'll be able to ride some this spring!

-cutts-

BTW... if anyone has or know where an extra D20 bronco case is laying around i am looking for a spare! i am collecting spare parts cause i know somewhere along the way i'm gonna need it. so far i have spare axleshafts, tranny, steering pump, alt, carb, carriers for front and rear, and working on driveshafts

Did you decide to use the front 60 you already had, or did you get it traded for a 78-79 one???

One of the guys I wheel with started building a tube buggy to resemble a half cab Bronco last fall. He is doing the work at the local off-road shop, so all of the wheeling people stop in constantly and he ends up wasting all of his time yakking to people instead of working on his rig. Last time I stopped in he hadnt gotten much done since I had last saw it. Told him I didnt feel so bad about having worked on mine for the last three years- at this rate I might get mine done before he does!! I am shooting for getting mine done for a late april club type run to Rockport Off Road Park (Howiepalooza 06) --Howie is the guy trying to build his buggy in the local shop, theres debate as to if he will have his rig done for his own event!!

I am hoping to have the rest of my haevy fab work done by the end of Feb, then I can tear it down for painting and reassembly and running electrical, brakelines fuel lines and such.

Was also planning on going to ECBR-Free-For-All in July- were you going to this?? If so, I could bring you a Dana 20 or two.

I'll bring the parts, you bring the Ho's!!!

How is that front 60 going to fit perfectly with such a narrow frame??

Why did you have to leave the country?? I hope it wasnt an angry pitchfork weilding mob of farmers that ran you out due to perverted thing being perpetrated on their livestock!!

You ever been in Bronco Driver magazine pictures for their coverage of Free for All??

A while back someone at FSB posted that combine steering valves are good for full hydro steering. If you wanted to try that route and dont have combines around there, theres no shortage of them here in boneyards. I could snag you one when I have the time. Also have one from a forklift just taking up space.

well the D60 is gonna fit perfectly b/c no other 1 ton axle will fit in any better, lol. i will prolly end up spacing the coil towers out an inch or two

well i am moving b/c of my parents, thats all i'll say!

i have been in a couple of the pictures for bronco driver, dont know the issue number or anything

man, that would be stellar! thats the next big project for me is the hydro steering. i can get all the parts easy aside from the steering valve and thats all that is holding me back!

you got any links to FSB where they were using the combine valves? thats something to look into. also got any info on the valve in the forklift of yours?

Dont have any links or info on the valve I do have, other than it came from a stand up electric Raymond forklift.

I found the thread-

http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34823

Don't know if I did that correctly, but I burned a couple of hours on my antique computer to find it instead of being out in the shop, so if I dont make it tomy scheduled runs- It's your fault. Seriously, if that link, or whatever it is, doesnt work, let me know and I can give you a step by step on how I found it.

Well I found the thread but for some reason I am not allowed to post it - I suppose because it references to FSB??? Anyway, here's how I found it -go to FSB and get on the members list and look for burnedB and look through all oof the post that were STARTED by him, then look for the one titled-full hydro for cheap. I think you will have to go through 3 or 4 pages to find it-- good luck
