I have a 68 Ford F100 I'm working on and I was reading about the sway bars they have for them in the LMC catalog and I was wondering if anyone had tried them and what they thought of them. Thanks.
JC Whitney has them much cheaper (around $120) in the front and they no longer make the rear sway bar, but Hellwig makes front and rear for 73-79 (about $160), I dont know what the difference is in mounting them between 68 and 73 though, they should work...
The LMC ones are like $185
I used the rear sway bar on my truck. The front sway bars will not fit a truck that was not originally equipped with one. It bolted up not quite like it was supposed to but I got it mounted. The instructions said the holes were already in the frame but they were not on my truck.
So if I'm getting what ya'll are trying to say....Sway bars are a pain to install on a truck that didn't have them (i.e. 67 and 68 fords). And even then they don't offer much improvement in control and handling?
So your truck didn't come equiped with them either? I have a 67 and a 68 and they don't have them. But it's not hard to install them? And they help with handling in corners and such? No sway and all? I've never driven a truck of my year that had them installed, so I'm trying to figure out what kind of improvments they would provide and if it's worth the cost and trouble.
>Actually I was trying to say
>there work very well (Hellwig)
>and require only two/four holes
>apiece to be drilled for
>install.
