I've got a friend who has like a 80s chevy truck with a 305. He wants better gas mileage. He thinks welding two glasspacks together will help him improve gas mileage??? I told him i'd find out. WIll it??? If not what exhaust set up would???

i don't know how welding two gp's together would increase mileage. if anything, it would make the truck quieter and reduce flow. the best flow is straights...or a borla muffler...i saw a post a few weeks ago that had a bunch of setups and their flow ratings...look around and see if you can find it.

If they are Thrush Magnums or other perftube designs they won't hurt flow but they woun't help any more then just having 1 by itself either, they will make the exhaust quite a bit quieter though.
More flow is better yes. Glasspacks won't really hurt the flow over a straight pipe even if you have say 3 inline but they will tone down the exhaust quite a bit that way.
Sorry Ken, but even though the passenger pushing bit does help, the extra headaches that come with them whining about it the whole time ain't worth the potential savings.
i would go with flowmasters they are not to expensive, they sound good, and are suppose to help with horse power and gas milage but i dont know about that. i put them on my 69 ford and my 96 GMC Yukon and i like the way both of them sound
