i want to exit my exhaust system in front of the rear wheel on the pass side. if i have the pipe angle at about 45 degrees but cut it off flush with the side of the truck, will the wind rushing by affect how the exhaust exits? will it blow the exhaust back in? i hope i described it well enough...if not, let me know and i will try to better explain. thanks.

you talking about exiting the pipe on a 45 with a 45 degree slash cut? I wish I still had the pic of the dual tip setup I did on my wagon. Definitly won't hurt anything though.
Just beware that the exhaust is going to end up on your wheels, and could cause damage to the finish. I wouldn't run an exhaust like that if I had nice chrome or aluminum wheels, that's my opinion though.
wouldn't the exhaust cool off before it hits the rim? i would assume yes so that won't be a problem...and if it is just slight smoke, wouldn't a good and regular cleaning take care of perhaps an extra dirty rim?
definately thanks for the imput

I run dual 3" pipes just the way you describe, slash cut but just a inch or two beyond the body line, no problems at all, should be a pic or three in my gallery, if not I'll put one up so you can get an idea.

The exhaust gases will actually eat away at the finish of the wheel. Remember how the 97 F150s had the side exit in front of the tire? Then in 98 they went back behind it? They actually did warranty exhaust replacements on the 97s if the buyer was worried about the wheels. They found that after as little as 8 months the aluminum wheels would have severe pitting in them from the exhaust gases. And I can guarantee the finish on a factory wheel is alot tougher than an aftermarket wheel. Like I said before, that was only my opinion, but as seen here, I backed it up with some hard facts. It's your truck, do as YOU like, perhaps consider what I have typed here.
