With a nice new set. I'm thinking about going with Stan's, I've heard nothing but good about them. Anybody have a different experience? I'm wanting to get them ceramic coated but haven't heard if they can do this yet. Just wondering if anybody had heard anything bad about them.

-Make sure you can get to starter. It may sound dumb but I had a set where I had to remove header to get starter out. Ended up with doug thorley wheelwell headers. They work great. Have heard good things about stans but never had them.

Good Lord, what a PITA! I've had headers before where it was difficult to pull the starter out but not where I had to drop the exhaust. What brand were those out of curiosity?

Can not remember what brand they were. Only reason I went to headers at all was the stock manifolds kept cracking. In the long run it was cheaper to buy headers (good ones)

I currently have a set of hedders where I have to jack the motor up real high and take the hedder off, just to change the starter. It is a real pain the #@$!!!.I got them brand new and put them on they are heddmen headers.A pretty popular name in hedders I had no idea they would fit so poorly. What kind of hedders do yall recomend so that I can get to the starter easily.
You can get to the starter with the Hookers, but they are over-priced for what they are, and I don't think John really likes his, you might ask him. In either case, I'd get them coated to keep down the temp and starter failure.

$365 for my application, and I'm getting them. I myself am not thrilled with hedmans, and theres a couple of guys on here who have put hedmans on and been less than satisfied.

Stans are good headers but I don't think they will allow you easy acess to the starter. I recently bought a 74 F350 camperspecail and the headers on it are new but are leaking horribly. I found out latter that they are what you might call a "JCwittney Specail." All I can say is don't settle for a set of POS's
