I have a 2004 Kind Ranch with the rear bench and the folding seats with tool trays. I have seen some guys stuffing boxes behind the seat. I would like to know how to move the seat forward to accomodate 2 10" subs with a box that can accomodate subs with a 7" mounting depth. Also, where to get a pre fabbed box that will fit behind the seats and fit a deep sub. The boxes Ive seen only have like 5 1/2 in depth, and only the JL or Boston acoustic subs I want will not fit, they are too deep. THanks,
I made a box for my brother's crewcab that he has 2 Alpine 10" something or others in (they have aluminum cones and are 7" deep). We moved his seat forward 1" (the front holes are right on the edge of the curve downward). It works and looks so good that I'm going to build a new one for mine. I have 2 JL W0's that are only 5 3/4" deep and a little bit more volume won't hurt; the box I made for them is TINY!!
It CAN be done. Obviously the speakers have to be mounted very low in the box and a relief made into the back of the box to clear the bump in the rear wall of the cab. Also I used a router to notch the bottom of the box to clear the seatbelt anchor bolts to make it sit 1/4 lower.
