Parts interchangabilty
Does any one on here know how much interchangability there is as far as sheet metal between a 1986 and a 1990 F series? I have a chance to pick up a running 1990 F250 HD with the EFI 460 and E4OD transmission. My 86 needs the left front fender and door. If I change the whole "doghouse" can I use the 1990 doors also? Since mine is an F350 crew cab DRW, I really want to keep it (lower taxes, heavier tow capacity) Then all I need is a better bed. The previous owner slid it into a couple of trees in a campground on glare ice. The wrecker who pulled him out finished off the left front door.

The beds, doors and front clips from 80-96 will swap onto your truck with no problems. If you do take the front clip off of the 90 to use on the 86, take the core support as well, you'll need it as some pre-drilled holes are on the 90's core support that aren't there on the 86's. You can also use the windshield if needed as well as the side glass, taillights, just about everything really.
