You will have to take into consideration of how much HP your making and what you plan on doing with this truck. If your pushing the HP limits of your truck then maybe you should call this guy. If you just have a tuner airbox and exhaust then chances are you would be just fine with a B&D TC. I dont know how much that guy charges for a TC, but the B&D TC is a good TC for the money. Im not trying to steal the thunder from BTS im sure they make a great TC. If its 1500 to 2k bucks then your twice as much as a B&D TC. Just giving other options. Good luck with your decision.
I agree with Discount powerprt. I was just saying to call Brian because he knows alot more than me about these transmission than me, and he can steer you in the right direction for you application.
Yeah I know what your saying. We had a customer tell us he bought a ATS TC for some ungodly amount of money. Im sure its a great TC also, but the guy only runs an Edge Juice with attitude, Air Box And Exhaust. So if he's lucky hes close to 390 HP and the B&D TC is rated for like 800HP witch would still be over Kill for the application, but much better than the stock TC. Yes you are right talking to a tranny guy would be a smart thing to do.
The BD is a triple disc lock up convertor (Same as the "other" guys) with lower stall stator for less slip, and with the plastic/nylon washers replaced with torrington thrust bearings. They have not had a failure yet from a street driven "Hot" truck. I cant post you the price, but it rymes with helv mifty...and you get (rymes with) snore-shifty back on the core return. Hope I did not break any rules.....O.O
I also taked to R&S diesel and Cathen Racing about your idea of doing NOS, Propane, or water. I was told by both that you should do the convertor, water injection, and should be looking at head studs soon. NOS is far better than propane, propane will creat a SERIOUS head gasket issue...even with the studs. Your engine has only 10 bolts per head, not the 16 per head of the old 7.3.....this is why the stock engines can at times blow them with a tuner...and Cathen Racing says he has replaced head gaskets on 2 tow trucks with 6.0's that were bone stock, but pull hard. I think we should keep your current SCT tune, and add a Edge box to it for more fuel, do the water injection, and do the convertor. THis is going to be the safest way to do it. If you go propane, I dont think I want anything to do with it....I dont you saying I blew your engine....lol.
For the water injection, you need to look to Patrick Cathen racing, he has experiance and can talk to based on what he knows. I told up front, I have not used it.

Im saying do the convertor, do the BD Torq Loc or Banks Trans Command to rais line pressures (Or lets do an Innovative custom extreme file for you that raises the line pressures and gives you more power), and do the water injection. The water injection can add about 60 HP at tops. Team that up with a good convertor, a hotter tune...and your going to have a great combination. But...I think your the kind of guy that is NEVER done....from talking to you on the phone, I am thinking your the guy that will want to push until the head gaskets pop, then you'll fix that and start looking for ways to squeeze a bit more, and then a bit more out of that 6.0 until you have a true monster on your hands. Where you go is upto you in the end, But I am saying convertor, line pressures, extreme tune, water. I can do you the Convertor, extreme tune, and if you want to add a ICP/MAP power box likthe EDGE EZ to get more fuel in it you can do that with the SCT or your evolution. The water injection....maybe you can wait and see what you get out of the package we are working on, and we can go from there?
