Looking for my F250
I have been looking for a supercab f250 with a big motor cheap. I just found one locally. It is a 1988 f250 supercab 4wd with 8 foot bed, 460v8 auto tranny, loaded, with factory hitch and trailer brakes. It has 108k miles with a new radiator and exhaust. Overall pretty good needs paint, battery, and brakes. Tires OK should last till spring. Tranny was recently rebuilt by sellers uncle who is a retired ford tranny mechanic. Seems to shift good. How much should I pay?

Take a look at www.kellybluebook.com and www.nada.com for use truck prices. The price above is for the north east privite party sale. because of rust, its checkep up here, enter your zip code for a better price. Whats the gas milage for a 7.5 8 to 10 mpg? How much does he want?? Sounds like a nice truck, but maybe not for long trips.

Well i checked the Kelly Blue Book private party value for fair condition and it said $2900 I then checked www.edmunds.com and it said $1900. I went and test drove it then, I bought it for $2200 and drove it home! It was a 52 mile trip with 30 miles on the interstate. It ran well but started to shimmy a little when you went over 75 MPH. The front wheels seem to be toed in at the top. Maybe it needs ball joints?

Good deal! maybe the tires need balancing too. Check to see when the last tune up was done like the trans fluid , rear end fluid, O2 sensor. Use motor craft oil filter, not Fram you may have problems with them. I think Motor craft is cheaper then fram anyways. Now its time to find some mud.
