93 ranger speedometer gear

my speedometer gear is shot. Has anyone ever replaced one? I will be going to the dealer today to get one. anyone know how to replace ir?

If you are talking about the drive gear in the transmission, takes about a 3/8-7/16 wrench or a metric equivalent to pull the bolt out. The gear is held on with a circlip, push off and push on. Should take maybe all of 10 minutes, thats without jacking it up (drive up on curb or a block and slide under. Be sure to put brake on or chock the tires if ya do it this way.
