I think the essence of the body lift is new mounts. You put some hockey pucks under the body, stack them to the necessary height, and then get longer bolts and bolt her back down. The kits are a bit better looking, but they're basically just giving you hocky puck material.
body lifts are a bad idea in the first place...if your going to use hockey pucks...why not stack some 2x4's in there and just use allthread??hell might as well just go ahead and just buy a a new set of body mounts and stack them in there too
come on guys...a body lift is inexpensive, please dont cut corners and danger yourself and others on the road
Kubota, Ive seen the kits, and if anything they are the same material as hockey pucks. They may come with better mounting bolts though. That's the only weak spot that i see in using them. Use quality bolts and you oughta be fine.
they aint the same material, i payed 150 for my kit for my 73 ranger, how much are pucks and once you get all the hardwear im sure you only gonna save about 50-75 bucks. and you will have a micky moused body lift,. and yeah your replaceing the body mounts and.. gonna have to make some adjustments to you radiator, steering colum, if standerd cluts linkage and if you care about your shifter bein lower thatannd your bumpers but its all pretty easy. think your broncos steering collum might have a slip joint in it,notsure but that makes it alot easyer

If you are determined to do it cheaply, at least make your own blocks out of steel, or if there is a large junkyard nearby there is likely a rig there you could scavenge some blocks from- hell, I have a truck in my field that I have gotten all of the parts from I want and it still has some lift blocks on it, but it would take me less time to make steel ones than to remove those(If I actually wanted body lift blocks)
the mounts that your truck comes with are either rubber or some type of vinyl. The purpose of having something other than steel is for silence. If you use steel ones, you might as well nickname the truck squeaky.
Secondly, hockey pucks are made to a standard size, and if you've ever gotten hit by one, you'd notice that it's quite hard, and it's not that much softer than the stuff that you're getting in the kit, if at all. It's definatley harder than the stock rubber mounts. The purpose of having a harder compound is to have less deformation under stresses that could break the mounting bolts. As the spacing distance is greater, so thus the need for a harder compound. The pucks are hard enough, and furthermore they are typically wider than the mounting kits, which means you may have to trim them to fit, but also that they give you a better surface of support.
lastly, this is a frame lift, not rocket science. The pucks will be within 1/16'' of each other, and do you really need much more accuracy than that?

Body lifts are for show, Suspension lifts are for Go!
Be a man, if you want 8" of lift, buy a new lift kit (if they make them that big for a B2), or do a shackle flip in the rear, and put in some coil spacers up front. Body lifts are TOO MUCH HASSLE imo. But, any way you do go about it, that would be cool to have a Bronco 2 with an 8" lift. What size tires you gonna be able to fit; 33"s?
