ok, my bud has a 78 4x4 pickup king cab. i have a 78 4x4 f250, his is a 1/2 ton and mine a camper special. my truck has square headlights and his has round headlights. we both looked and as far as we can tell the front clip is oem on both trucks. what gives here. i thought ford went to square lights in 78 and he thinks they went in 79. he always thought my was a 79 until we started talking last night. My ? is did ford make 78 later models w/ square headlights or on only a few models?

Thunder, I have a 78 Bronco XLT with square lights. I think Ford started putting them on the XLT's early in the 78 model year, and then just changed over to square completely. I have seen some 78 Customs with the round lights.

To my knowledge in 1978 the only trucks and Bronco's with round headlights were customs and plain cheap base model trucks. Any thing with a package like Ranger, XLT, Lariat, Ect. had square headlights. In 79 all of them had square headlights.
