93 4.9L I6 problems

I have a 1993 F150 with I6 4.9L automatic 2WD 145,000 miles.

Once I hit about second or third gear the truck jerks really bad when it's shifting. Anyone think the transmission is going? I have done about six pull offs at my high school this year, maybe that's starting to show....

when was the last time you changed the tranny fluid? If you are thinking that something is wrong, drop the pan and change the filter and gasket. At 145 it probably needs done anyway. See an excess of metal flakes or clutch material and you're in trouble.

Well, I haven't ever changed the tranny fluid or the filter yet - that's what I was thinking about doing. Need to get some $$ for that though..

do a couple of more pull offs and than you can be sure that is what did your tranny in.

when/if you change fluid and filter remember you also have to drain convertor.

i put lucas treatment in also at the same time.
