I'm in college... and money is soooo hard to come by, but I've decided to make my truck a true mud bogger. She already does great through the mud and trails (where ever I can fit through) but... I want this thing to be unstopable. I have a limited slip rear end, but I know I need to lock it. Now... I've heard the phrase "Lincoln Locker" which I'm sure is where you weld the 3rd member? spider gears? and basically it becomes a spool right? Now my question is... this option sounds cheap, but how strong is it? And how is driveabiltiy on the road?
If this is a good idea, should I do the front and rear or just the rear?
I'm running Dana 60's F & R with 44's

that rear 60 wont like to be locked...they ar emuch easier to break...tiny dana 44 sized 30 spline shafts..i blew mine up with 39's shortly after i welded it
find a 14 bolt, sterling 10.25 or a dana 70 with 35 spline 1.5 inch shafts...whetever you can find cheapest, and weld that up...you wont have to worry about the rear again
Damn... and to think... I could have almost bought a Dana 70 3 weeks ago. *sigh* Ya live ya learn. Should I upgrade the front 60 to 1.5 35 spline axle shafts as well... probably a no brainer... but.. nontheless....???
Jeez... I just looked at Orange76 and Cutts pictures... I wished you guys lived closer... you 2 could show me a thing or 2!
Thanks for your help guys... I'll probably have lots of questions about hydro steer when the money comes up!

i would defniitly get a 1 ton rear, if the front is locked, i would upgrade to the fat inners, spicer joints, yukon or spicer stubs, and mm 35 spline hubs
if you have extra cahs laying around that is
but if you havent broke a stub yet, you probably will be fine
