I recently bought a 1990 f-150 4wd and im having some electrical problems.
The first of which is that the small cargo lamp on the back of my cab doesnt turn off when both the doors are closed.
the other problem im having is that my highbeams do not turn off, Im not sure where the switch is but ive messed with the switches and i havent found a solution yet. My headlights do turn on and off with the switch I just cant pick between reg lights and highbeams.
my last problem is that my brake lights do not work. I have checked all of the fuses and the lights work when i turn on my headlights.
im not sure what it could be at this point any help would be much apreciated.

Turn the headlight switch **** and see if it goes out. Normally this would turn the dome light on all the time too, but I thought maybe your domelight is disconnected.

Pull on the turnsignal switch. I think this is the high/low function.
my last problem is that my brake lights do not work.
Yes, like the other poster asked, do you have a highmount third brakelight, and does it work?
i dont have a high level brake light, just the two tail lights, both work when the lights go on they just dont get brighter when i hit the brakes. the cargo light did go off when i turned the switch but im still not sure about the brights. they are now back to normal but im not sure how i switched them back
Since you do not have a high mount third brakelight, the first thing you need to do is get a voltmeter or testlight, and get down under the dash to the brakepedal switch. Look for a lightgreen wire coming off the switch. With one side of the meter or testlight on ground, probe the lightgreen wire and when you hit the brake pedal, you shouldhave voltage on this wire.
i took my truck to my friends mechanic and he ended up having to rig up a bypass for the fuse, turns out the #1 fuse hole wasnt working even though the fuse was good. feels good to finally have a vehicle with all working electronics for once.
