exhaust vs. clutch

I have a 78 f-150 that had a 400 in it originally but its previous owner put a 351m in it. Now, the headers on it are in the way of the adjuster on the clutch and you can't adjust it when the clutch wears. A friend told me that I should put clevland manifolds on it but i would really like to keep the headers. I've seen the ones that hug the block but I'm not talented enough to modify the cross members. Does anyone know what to do?

Trevor, can the linkage be bent or the headers bent or dimpled to create enough room to adjust ? DF

no, i already tried that, they can't be bent that far
