I've just heard of this report. Provides warrenty and recall work done, right? Can I just call a local dealer and them him fax it to me, or is this an internal document. Do dealers sell them?

After purchasing my 2003 F250 SD back last November, I took it in to a local dealer for service. Changed fluids...and had them do the 90,000 mile check-up. I wanted to make sure my SD was in good shape and did not need work done. If it did, I was going to do the work myself. Anyway...I asked the dealer to run the Oasis report for me and give me a copy. They would not do it!!! What jerks. Never taking my SD back...will go to another dealer.
So...GOOD luck finding a dealer that will do it for you...especially if you do not get some kind of service.
We have some nice FTE members that work at dealerships...so that is a HINT HINT...
I walked into Babylon Ford right after my 3-year warranty was up to ask about some stuff (driveline vibration). They ran an OASIS, it said I had the extended drivetrain warranty.
Then, the guy hands me the printout, and I still have it.
Dealers are like little kids fighting over a Matchbox car. It's MINE! I seriously doubt Ford has any policy about not giving out OASIS reports. If a dealer won't do it, say this: "Guess I'll have to bring all my work to another dealer" and walk out. If they say "wait" good for you. If they don't say anything, good for you, because you just walked away from a dealer that won't go the extra mile for you
Hey Guys, Dont get to irritated at the dealer, the main reason they wont hand out history information is that it is the property of whoever owned the vehicle when the work was done. So if you bought it used, they legally cannot give you any information from prior to your owning the vehicle. The law suits are just not worth it.

a12play12, I understand completely. That's why I asked the question how I did. Although, on the other hand, it should belong to the dealer (as he created the list) not the owner. If the report contains any owner info, then they should obviously not be providing that infomation. Personally, I think they should be able to tell you what they did to it, but as a courtesy only.
04F250PSD, You need to go to the Message Forums > OASIS Forum. It looks like about one user there is providing the info (M.C.). He has quite a list of open requests, and doesn't appear to have posted in the last few days.

Hey bterry, Its not as much the owner information, it is the guy who pays all the money for a vehicle, then gets a repair history and sues because he feels the truck has had to have too much work or whatever. There have literally been lawsuits and fistfights. The information therefore belongs to the owner at the time, if they wish to provide it, it can substancially add to the value of some vehicles. I know on aircraft, the maint. logs can add upwards of $50,000 to the price if the craft. And if you get into the high end, (mercedes, rolls, bently) vehicles many people will not even consider a purchase without a documented, and complete vehicle history.
Good luck, (it never hurts to have friends in the business)

When I bought my truck used at the end of May 05 2005, the salesman walked me to the service manager and introduced me to him. The salesman asked him to print out an Oasis report on the 2002 F-350 I was intending on buying. The report showed no signifigant problems{warranty work) and or major service service done by that dealership on that truck for former owner.
It did not include the previous owners name or address.
Wish it had, I would have asked the owner if he had an extra key/fob and owners manual. ended up just ordering one from the factory
still never got them from dealership

Check carfax.com done that before buying my truck, give me warranty work, most service work done at dealer and gives you a buy back guarantee if they miss anything. Think it cost me 29.95.
Will the oasis report include all work done at any ford dealership?
Only warrenty work. It also includes much of the equipment as it was delivered from the factory (radio type, mirrors and transmission serial number to name a few).
