I've got plenty of Norwegian in me too which brings with it a taste for Lefse.
Uff-da, good stuff, plenty of Scandinavian heritage here.

>German to bake. I kind of get bombarded with German food
>which is also very good. I still wish there was snow
>thou.
Ever had Sauerbraaten (sp?) I tried that at a friend's house, I think it's German. I thought it was pretty good.
We're getting a little snow to stick here now been going for a day and a half now and we only have less than an inch. Supposed to keep going for a few days though. Let's hope.
Father in law ( long passed away) used to always break open a big bottle of Swedish liquer when we came over at Christmas and I was trying to think of the name of it at work today . Just cant remember the name of the stuff . I thought it started with an E ?? I know it is a popular drink in his home country . Have any idea what I`m referring to ? Thanks
Jeff

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
The small bottles are called a "Kyelling"(sp)slang for Chicken.
As I remember it is 42% alcohol.
I'll be back after I find an old bottle of it.
Found it .
Aalborg Jubilæums Akvavit Original (Danish Spiced Vodka)
Half bottle: 500 ml (16.9 US fl oz) AALBORG AKVAVIT - the spirit of Denmark. Akvavit was originally discovered by alchemists searching for the secret of eternal youth and beauty. The akvavit produced for the first two hundred years or so was not particularly attractive however - in fact, it was actually a bit cloudy. But ever since the first bottle of AALBORG AKVAVIT was distilled in 1840, the golden, crystal-clear drops of this particular beverage have been a pleasure both to look at and to taste - especially when served in traditional, long-stemmed akvavit glasses. The long stem means that your hand does not warm the drink as you raise your glass to toast family and friends. It also gives you a full sparkling view of the contents of your glass as it catches the light. AALBORG JUBILÆUMS Akvavit - distinct dill and coriander. AALBORG JUBILÆUMS Akvavit is golden and elegant, with a few simple aromas. The characteristic flavour of this clean and fruity akvavit is dill in sophisticated combination with coriander.
There is also a trace of star aniseed and citrus, all smothly rounded off with a spicy burnt taste not unlike caramel. AALBORG JUBILÆUMS Akvavit was created in 1946 to celebrate the centenary of AALBORG TAFFEL Akvavit. It is perfect for fish - preferably fatty fish fried in the pan. Duck and chicken with a full, light gravy also make a perfect match for charming AALBORG JUBILÆUMS Akvavit. Best served chilled. Perfect served as schnaps. Alcoholic strength: 42% vol
