Can anyone please tell me how to change the ignition switch in a 95 explorer? My daughter lost her keys and now we cant move her vehicle. I bought a new switch but I have no clue how to do it since it is in the lock position. How hard is it to do? Any help would be appreciated
just take the vin info to ford dealer and they should be able to make a new key
if not you do not to need the switch it is not part of the key i had to replace the tumbler after a the car was broken into and stolen
We did call the Ford dealers and they can only do 96 and newer. Needless to say this one is a 95...Someone told me that the old one has to be drilled out...then again I heard from a Ford parts man that it can be popped out...HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

here is what i did
take the column apart and you can remove the screws that hold the ingnition assembly on the column and replace the whole unit with a new one or one from a wrecking yard just make sure you get the key too I would get the door locks and trunk or hatch lock too that`s what i did
