Question on cam's
Question on cam's
I made sure to go with a mild cam for my EFI 460. It's a RV Crane Cam. I picked up a Crane Double Roller 68 timing kit a couple days before I bought the cam and lifters. Am I going to need new valve springs, Push Rods, etc?

Just curious and want to find out everything I need before going into the installation.
I have got everything in finally. I will start it this weekend. Since I'm putting new valve springs on, should I just pull the heads, and bring them to a shop to get the valves grinded, and while at it have them put on my valve springs, so I don't have to get a valve spring compressor, etc? How much would this run? Is there going to be any bearings I'm going to need to replace? I don't want to pull the engine from my truck.
Hey oricle their is an ongoing debate if the newer EFI 460 have the 4deg. retarded timming set in them or not. Sense your going to be replacing yours can you check back here and let us know what you find?

Im not sure if their is a diffrence, is your truck a 49 state model or a Ca. modle? What is the crane number of that cam? I think by the spiecs given I would change the valve springs. You can change them without pulling the heads. I would change the seals at the same time.
