460 Truck No Tow Hook

460 Truck No Tow Hook
Well, I picked up my new 1990 460/7.5 Liter Ford truck and 5th wheel camp trailer on Sunday. Drove it from Sacramento to my ranch in Mendocino county. All went fine until I got to my rock drive way just below the house.
Not enough traction to climb the steep drive. Had to back down. Then got stuck against the bank. Couldn't go forward or backward. Left it and went to bed.
Next morning I crawled under the Ford's front bumper looking for some place to attach a winch. This can't be I thought. No hook to attach to.
I really could not believe this, I must have looked five different times. How could Ford build a truck that you cannot tow out of a ditch with a winch or tow truck.
I got my neighbor who has all kinds of bulldozers and stuff. "No hook under there and you can't tie to these I-beam front ends either. Maybe we can hook to the frame somehow."
We eventually got out of this mess. But is it really true that Fords build big 250 pick-ups with no tow hooks or loops at all? Even my little Toyota pick-up has a man sized tow hook on the front.
With a fifth wheel trailer in tow and stuck on a rock slope you don't have many options. Am I missing something here?
