edelbrock intakes arent that expensive, you could probly get one for under 200 dollars. i dont know if this link is gona work, but check it out http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=edelbrock+performer&searchinresult s=false&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&N=115&target=egnse arch.asp

some auto parts stores will try to rip you off hard on high performance parts. your best bet would be to call around and find a good price.
you can get a used one for even cheaper off ebay or something.

Show me an EFI intake manifold for a smallblock Ford for under 200 dollars. The Edelbrock EFI intakes are 299 for the lower and 249 for the upper, or 500-some for the upper-lower combos. 530 for the truck upper and lower intakes. Lowest I found was 205 for a lower intake built for a Mustang operating in the 2000-7000 rpm range.

Question: How much good would it do to bolt the Edelbrock lower intake base to the stock EFI upper truck intake and just port match the heads to the lower, and the upper to the lower? Maybe port out the whole EFI upper? Not enough to justify 300 bucks I'd assume...

the 5.0 intake you already have is best for your application. it actually flows better then the 5.8 intake. the only other intake that i would recommend would be the edelbrock 5.0 intake not the truck style. just remember that the runners are shorter which puts the power higher in the rpm range. for a truck this is not productive.
get some headers, get the bassini Y pipe with hiflow cat or offroad one if you dont need the cat. then 3" pipe out stock location. then look into the bbk 56mm throttle body and see how that suits ya. changing to a different intake with out these other mods done would be counter productive

I don't think Psyte realized that Ken was talking about an EFI intake. I even started thinking carbed intake as I began reading his post.

as soon as i get my new engine and put it in, i am planning on doing the exhaust and air intake system then saving up for the upper and lower intakes. what i was wandering is if the GT40 intakes off of 5.0 exploders are better than what i got now and would they fit?

ken

p.s. it is a 94 so yes it is EFI
