No nonsense straight shooter to some...may come across as being rude.
If you took my posts to you as such, I APOLOGIZE as that was not my intention.
All I was trying to do was to inform you that there was no poly anything associated with these trucks.
That link to the paint charts is from PPG, an aftermarket company, it's not genuine Ford.
Ford used different names for the same color on different vehicles. Ford also used "promotional names" for paint colors in sales brochures.
I don't know, I guess I am used to it, but at the Ford garage I worked at when you went to the parts counter, Ross would razz someone, somtimes it was me, he would give you an education on something to do with Ford, or their parts, sometimes he would make a dick out of you or someone, but you knew when you walked away YOU GOT THE RIGHT PARTS EVERYTIME! He was a no nonesense straight shooter, but you had to take it in stride, you knew he ment no harm, it was ALL in good fun.
Bill, I know I told you before you remind me of Ross, and when I read your posts, I know there is going to be some of that humor involved, so for me as you were! I appreciate your knowledge, wisdom and sometimes to some your iritating ribbing! "its all good!"

PS: Did you see how old this thread is?
You betcha...three years and seven months to the day it was dug up.
I wonder when ppl criticize me for my comments...if they have a clue on how much time and effort it takes to look up all this old crap.
Since Ford replaces 10's of 1000's of part numbers every fracatta year, I have to verify what the part numbers are that are listed in old parts catalogs, before I type a single one.
And exactly what does all this jazz cost these ppl? Nothing, not a red cent.
The last parts counter job I had paid me SEVEN GRAND a month.
Here on FTE...I'm doing the same damn thing for nothing. Sometimes I wonder why I bother.
Can I say half my truck has the original paint???? Cab forward is O riginal Wimbledon white....the bed I replaced. It was this awful 2 tone burnt orange and creme color, which I roughed up with some scotch brite and rattle- canned it Wimbledon white. Good ol Schucks/O'Reilly's and that Dupli-Color stuff. I call it a 25 footer.....looks good from 25 feet!!! But it all matches. There was a time when it was half primer and half white......hated it. (really need to get off my technologically challenged BEE-hind and post some pics)
I appreciate your vast knowledge of Ford part numbers there Numberdummy.......keep up the good work!!!
