Smile led light project

Check out my third brake light I am converting to led.

I actually have the redo the red because I made a mistake in the math but I will fix it later. The dome light is actually very nice, very bright and very white.

Great Idea. I was thinking of building my own LED lights for the Grille. What LED's did you use?
Would like to see some pictures of them lit up.

I bought the 3rd Brake light from Recon, But should have done this myself.

Nice job! Post some pics of it lit up once you're finished.

I converted my tail lights to LED using truck-lite model 60 fixtures. Was going to convert the upper mount but now I'm getting a Leer cap so won't need to. I was going to do a similar thing as I did with the tail... just can't justify the cost of the Recon light.

Also, I saw and F350 dually the other day that of had a strip of LEDs on each side of the "center under the tailgate" strip and they were hooked up to his turn signals. Looked cool when he changed lanes.

This is the Line of Fire Tailgate light. I just put it on my 06 F350 and they work great. Only problem is I can't see them when I am driving.

I bought it through RECON for I think around $70.00. They do have them on Ebay also, but not sure of quality.

the grill gaurd is made by ranch hand.

I will post some pics of the light whenever I can finish the red leds. I have to redo them because I didn't account for the voltage when the truck is charging so I burnt up 36 red leds.

Try using a 12v zener diode on the power wire. Limits the voltage to 12v no matter what you put to it.

Yes except he had the oem f350 lights in the center and LEDs on each flank that flashed with the turn signals. Where'd you get that LED strip or strips? And if they are 3 pieces do they flash with the turn signals?

I believe that they have the line of fire strip set up as one piece and you can hard wire it in or plug it into you 4-wire trailer plug. The strip blinks with the blinkers and it lights up half of the strip on which side that is blinking.

Mine is one single strip but they internally seperate at the middle and when the turn signals are activated they blink up to the half way point of the signal side your on. And then the whole strip lights for brake. This was bought off ebay and is a recon item.
