Might be **** but:
I put "speed nuts" on the front rotors on my 4WD X's. Holds things in tight as the rest goes together. I also torque the wheel nuts. I heard that helps prevent rotor warp .... (I don't know if that is possible on "the new" rotors)
According to the factory manuals they are supposed to have speed nuts or retaining clips on them. Most brake shops don't put them on after they do a brake job. Makes a hell of a mess when you are out in the dark in the dirt and the hub falls off when you pull the wheel. How do you say "dirt in the bearings" much less where did that little sealing O-ring go...
BTW- You can buy those little retaining clips for $.25 each at the hardware store out of those little plastic drawers. I don't know how much 1/2" or larger speed nuts are. You can buy big O-rings at any local hydraulics supply house.
