I sincerely appologize to all users who thought I have been
yelling at everyone by using all caps. I had to ask someone
how to turn it off. I'm still learning how to shift the gears
on this thing!
hi im new at this so bare with me, i always thought the only differance between the 351c and the 351w was that the 351c had larger heads than the 351w. my question is i have a 69 f100 step side that im going to turn into a street rod and i noticed that liltinc said something about a 429 boss. could some one give me a break down on the 429 boss?

Hemlock, you might as well forget about a BOSS 429 unless you have thousands of dollars to spend on one. This was Fords shotgun Hemi and I think under 1000 of them were installed in mustangs in 1969 and 1970 combined. I have personally never seen one of of these engines up close, only in pictures. I saw a set of NOS valve covers on ebay for a BOSS 429 going for over $1000. I actually saw a whole engine going for over $10,000. This is probably one of fords rarest engines besides the 427sohc. Ford Motorsport actually offers a 429 aluminum block and the Boss type aluminum heads from race products. So you can build your own boss 429 but the price is still nuts.
People who say it can't be done should not interrupt the person doing it.
all 351'a are small blocks, you canreally pump out the power with a clev, but you hav to hve some good gas to mk her fire! also,i would reccomend using a edelbrock 4bbl card and manifold, with their crank an cam, it will really spruce up your power!

HOW DO YOU GET C HEADS TO FIT A 302 WHEN THEY ARE 3 OR 4" LONGER
AND ABOUT 2" WIDER? A REAL BOSS HAS SEMI HEMI HEADS. THE SPARK
PLUGS GO STRAIGHT DOWN THREW THE TOP OF THE VALVE COVERS.
HAVE ANY OF YOU ACTUALLY SEEN A CLEVELAND OR A BOSS 302 OR 351.
Hello Friend ,
A Cleveland head fits perfectly on a 302 block ...
it is called a Boss 302 . Drill a few water passages and fill a few others and you have one screaming 302 !
Clevelad heads will not fit on a 289 'cause the bore
is too small .
The Boss 429 is THE " semi hemi " with plugs right in the middle .
Boss 429 heads fit on a 460 block with some oil return lines
ans some push rod cl;earance on the block .
The 427 "Cammer" also has the plugs in the middle of the valve cover and is THE HEMI !!.
The Boss 302 is a Windsor small block with C heads
The Boss 351 is a "super" 351C
The Boss 429 is freakin awesome !!
I have piles of Cleveland parts , some Boss 429 parts ...
wish I could afford some 427 SOHC parts :-)
