My friend gave me a sony cdx-ca710x because it didnt work so im trying to figure out whats wrong with it so heres the deal the little light underneath the cd load slot blinks and thats it. It won't turn on or anything so any ideas will be greatly appreicated. Thanks in advance.
The light I believe would be the fake anti-theft light. Well it's getting power if the light is on. You should just buy another one, not many big fans of Sony around here.
Everything's hooked up correctly I assume?
Get a CD you aren't too fond of and try and load it. Does it go in? Will it come back out?
Sounds like you may have just gotten a broken CD player. I doubt you can fix it.
But the main thing to do is just make sure it's hooked up right. Make sure both power wires are in (memory and ignition) and make sure the ground is hooked up righti. Try to put a CD in it, see if it wants to take it in. There's not much you can do except take off the cover and use a can of air and see if it helps at all.
What you have to do is ever so slightly... and I mean you gotta be extremely careful with this. But you have to take it and THROW IT IN THE TRASH AND GET A NEW ONE!!!! LOL
Honestly you can contact my old employer CPS Distributing and ask for Heath thier repair technitian. He is an authorized Sony tech center. Thier number is (816)241-2552. They are also a authorized repair center for Kenwood and Clarion. He repairs everything for me. Right now he's repairing a fold out Clarion monitor that I got out of a used car at the dealership that wanted a factory head unit back in it. Turns out its only a bad ribbon inside it and will only cost me about $75.00 to fix. Sweet deal. Looks like perfect Ebay material for me....lol
