Howdy, Could anyone identify this vacuum tube and where it connects. I pulled the intake manifold off my 1977 F150, 302, 2bbl, automatic trans and didn't label the tube 'cause I thought I'd remember where it went..... anyway one end has a rubber tube that connects to the carb and the other end is kind of charred like it was connected to the exhaust manifold . Thanks in advance.
Here's the link:

Does it connect to the carb near the round black choke housing? If it does, it goes to the exhaust manifold and draws warm air into the black choke housing to assist the warm-up of the choke bi-metal spring.
that looks , to me like the line that runs to the vaccum modulator on the transmission . the the rubber line connects to a vaccum port on the carb, the other end of the metal line connecs to another ruuber line thats connected to the modulator.
OK, this tube connects from the carb to the exhaust manifold. look for a small hole on the top rear of the pasenger side manifold. This is where the burned end goes. The end with the rubber goes to the underside of the carb aircleaner flange, there should be a angled tube at the back of the carb under the flange. This is NOT a vacuum fitting. The tube supplies filtered air to the heat stove in the exhaust which is then sent to the carb choke housing in another tube insulated with a fiberglass sleeve. The insulated sleeve is the important one as this supplies the warm air for the choke to operate properly.
Lets also make sure you have a line to the tranny modulator, which goes to the intake manifold vacuum port.
Thanks for the responses. I like the automatic transmission modulator answer and will do some more crawling around under the truck to find the connection. I already have a tube coming off the passenger side exhaust manifold hooked up. Thanks again.
