1986 Bronco II Eddie Bauer. I recently got my BII after having a 84 Ranger for many years (still have), but soon after I got it home the power locks started to malfunction. The passenger door started to make a squealing sound and no longer lock or unlock. It still will lock manually by key or pressing the actual lock ***. A coulple weeks later the drivers side did the same. The rear hatch sill opperates perfectely when you hit the button. Any ideas on what went wrong, and how to possibly fix it? Thanks.
86 Bronco II Eddie Bauer. When you hit the lock switch you can hear them try to do something, but I haven't had a chance to pull apart the door panel to check. Been working on installing a 91 explored radiator, and devising a dual air inake. If i couldnt tiker i wouldnt know what to do.. Is there a way to fix the actuators, or only just a full replacement?. Thanks for reply.
If its like the 88 I had check for power at the actuators if you don't have power then check the wires where they go into the door.Mine was broke insite the rubber elbo{a pain in the butt to fix}.If you got power, spray the actuators with WD 40 and make sure the rod to the manual lock is not bent or in a bind.If that does not fix it ,then you need to get new actuators.
While your there grease and lub the window gears and slids good, makes them work a lot better and you already have the door apart too.JMO
My motor for my passenger lock burned up, there are replacement aftermarket ones on ebay, I guess they are universal. My lock was doing the same thing , it sounded like it was working but when the door panel was removed you could tell it wasn't working.

you were able to find the part on ebay? I have been looking, but only finding window motors.
