Just got home and will look at it more tomorrow. So far it drives very different from my 02 GMC Yukon XL and the acceleration isn't there. It should tow like there is no tomorrow or so I hope.
Time to do its first oil change!! You never know when the previous owners changed it last. Thats the first thing I did, next on my list is a Tranny flush as I'm about at 80k.
Maybe it is me but I tend to like it to be really snappy when I hit the gas. I will try it with another Powerstroke and see what it feels like. I suppose gas is going to be more snappy than diesel.
As to fluids. It doesn't stop there. All fluids get changed. I will flush the brakes when I get some braided SS hoses on them. Thanx for the suggestion
One reason is that I find the gas pedal to be quite numb. I think a lot of it has to do with the sensitivity of the pedal, I'm not sure what year they switched to drive by wire but this should mean that you can change the sensitivity of the pedal with a programmer, but I haven't checked into it yet as I have been primarily looking at the 6pos chips. Another thing to remember is that its a turbo, better economy but there is a sacrifice in throttle response. A chip/exhaust should also remedy this problem a bit with less back pressure and more boost. If you want super fast spool up then the best option would be to get a ball-bearing turbo, but thats $$
Don't forget that accelerator AND transmission response will have a lot to do with how it's been driven over the last 500 miles. The onboard computer calculates various items based upon the driver's habits/style. You could unhook the battery for about half an hour, then start over.
you must unhook the battery cable for it to learn your driving style. unhook the negative battery cable and turn on the headlights for 30 mins. this will erase all the memory and will allow you to start over.
Gong to do that now! Do the lights have to be on for the memory loss to occur? Just curious because I just put my nav/sub in the other day and the battery was un-hooked for longer than that.
