'36 window patterns

Hi guys,

I am a regular on the '48-60 forum but now I have a request for someone on this board. My neighbor is building a '36 Ford street rod. He pieced this truck together with a 1 1/2 ton cab he bought from a farmer. It was sitting in a field and didn't have any glass. He was able to take the windshield frame to a glass shop and have a windshield made. He needs to get the rest of the glass and needs patterns for the doors and rear window. The rear window shouldn't be too hard, I assume he could trace the opening onto a piece of cardboard but the doors are another story. There is no way to tell what the angles of the sidees and radii of the corners should be. I need patters for the side glass. If you have a set of windows that aren't in a truck yet could you trace one of the side windows for me?

Any help would be appreciated.

Don't quote me on this but I was under the impression that 1 1/2 ton and 1/2 ton were the same cab mine is 1/2 ton. I think that one of the old parts dealers had the pattern. If you want, give me some dimensions and I'll check it against mine. I know someone with your answer will show up shortly. I'm still trying to figure out what fits what and even what a 36 is A? B? anybody know??
Thanks DD

Yes, I was assuming the cabs were all the same as they are for the '48-52s but I wasn't sure. I thought some of the earlier vehicles, mayby the '20s or '30s had different bodies, just wasn't sure when Ford started to standardize their trucks.

Thanks,

Bob

Just read your window post, did you get any patterns? I may still have old glass laying around.

Ebay has a Vender that sells 35/36 truck glass. I doub't he'd give up the pattern, but might want top compare the cost of having it cut locally
