Looking to put a 351W and a C-4 trans in this Ranchero? Any advice appreciated

400, C-6. I know I will have to change the frame mounts

Just hunt down any midsize donor that originally held a small block from that era..eg torino, cougar, ltdII, etc. and grab the motor mounts and crossmember from it. you may not even have to change the crossmember if your car has the slotted crossmember, my 71 and all of my 75-79 rancheros had that 1 which would mount to a fmx, c-4, or c-6 . I never had a 73 so I can't guess if yours does, But I'd bet it does from my experience on both sides
