I am asing this question because I am sitting here in a hotel room with my truck in the airport parking lots some 1000 miles away so I cannot just walk outside and look.

Does the metal fold-out tray just bolt in? I was wondering myself how difficult it would be tgo get rid of it. I have just never looked closely at it. Did you have to do anything other than just unbolt it?

Rick, theres 6 "torx bits" ( however you spell it, its the 6-star patterned bolt ) and one.... umm, 1/2"-3/4" bolt, and thats it. id suggest putting the 1/2" bolt back in all the way, because it would leave a hole all the way through the floor otherwise. just consider the bolt a plug. and... i was careful when lifting it out, the thing is like a bear-trap, dont get your fingers caught in it. the 1/2" bolt is underneath a plastic cover thats on the drivers side floor by the way.

hope that helps.

Thanks. Mine is coming out this weekend. Like you, I need the space and this contraption takes up way too much. Thanks again.
