I am planning to do a tune up on my 96' ranger and I want to know if i need to go with the motorcraft plugs or will another brand be ok? I was planning on going with Bosch Platinums but I heard that anthing but motorcraft will foul out in these motors. It is the 2.3l with the 2 plugs per cylinder setup.
I have the Autolite double platinum in my 99 2.5L and they seem good. I tried a set of premium Bosch wires on my 87 TBird Turbo coupe and once the engine got up to temp it would miss bad. Therefore I would be very leary of the Bosch plugs too.
CR really holds no merit. If they really knew there stuff then they would not have given MC oil the best pick. Sure its good oil but it can't compare to conocos other line like trop artic or kendall. those have up to 68% GP III basestock in them , something conoco admits to the public.
That probably is the right time-frame. How much could change since then. In the whole scheme of things, The "house brand" is good. I was told that Sunoco made Auto Zone oil. And I know that Kendal makes Harley Davidson oil. A percentage of the profits of course go to the Rotting Dinasour foundation.
