What is the likelihood of "M + S 33x12.5 R 16" Revenger II Radial A/S" with 16x12" rims fitting my crewcab, as-is without lifting it?
I have 235/85 R16's on there now.... which if my math is correct are 32.75" in diameter.. not quite a 7% difference in diameter, and a 1" increase in diameter.
Reason is my junkyard tires are about to die... and I have an opportunity to acquire the above tires (and chrome rims) for next to nothing... so if they'll fit with minimal rubbing (perferably none), I'd be extremely happy.
Turning my current tires lock to lock, it looks like there is more than an inch of clearance... but I figured I'd ask.

You may have some problems with the extra width. I suspect they will rub on a full lock. There is only one way to find out. Put them on! If it were a 4x4 they would just barely fit. My 78 f-250 4x4 runs 33 x 12.50s and they will rub while off roading. They are fine on the street.
I think they should fit. I have put 33 inch tires on a stock 150 4x4 before and it never came close to rubbing. Although yours is a 2 wheel drive, it is a 1 ton, and there should be plenty of room.
I would think they should fit 16x12, now those are some monster rims. I think the rims (Backspacing/offset) would determine wheather not the tires rub. If the backspacing is right, they should clear no problem. Like other's said, hard to tell until you try em on. good luck

When I got my truck I got a Rancho 3" front lift and later I got BFG 33x12.5x15 all-terrain tires. They didn't rub at all until BFG started making the same tires with the ***** on the side. Now they rub on the tortion bars when I turn full right or left.
Those tires ought to squat pretty good on rims that wide, I doubt they'll even be as tall as your current tire/wheel combination (assuming your current rims are stock width). Like others have said, it's the section width and backspacing you need to be concerned with and I'd just test fit them if that's feasible.
Yeah I didnt even think of the tires with the ***** on the side. When I did that ony my old 4x4 I had some kumhos that just had grip on the face of the tire.
Took a ride down to TJC's place today (Howdy Tom, nice to have met you finally!) and Mr. Tape Measure indicates there was no way in hell they would fit, at least if I wanted my fender wheelwells to retain their shape
So for now, I'll see how many more miles I can get out of these dryrotting tires
hey yall, it had nothing to do with the tires.
Fred stopped by with his "work in progress" F350 4 door today.
i am not one that is easily impressed, but all i can say is WOW!!!
i was humbled by a fabrication genius! i can build just about anything if you give me precise plans, but the interior fabrication and dash on this thing is something i would never try in a thousand years, and he was talking about what he had done like it was something he did every day. from the digital instrument panel, custom fiberglass dash board, and overhead console to the L.E.D. indicator lights, and the front bumper that caused the tires to not fit was another work of art that put mine to shame.
it should be a real show stopper when he is done with it.
plus it gave me an excuse to go out and tidy up the "little" garage so i can start another project.

You'd be less impressed if I showed you the large pile of mistakes, but thank you

That's never a bad thing. Come on up and visit so I'll clear out my garage. Need a sofa?
BTW, I sent you an email, I presume it didn't arrive?
