Anybody try Smithwick's yet? It's made by the same people who make Guinness. My friendly Irish bartender told me that this was the original favorite over in Ireland (still is too), and when the company bought new equipment to make it with, they managed to burn a batch. This is what gave them the idea, and what we now know as Guinness......apparently.
Either way, it's a great beer. It's dark and rich, but not like Guinness. It's more of a red ale than anything else.
If I buy it its going to be a Miller High Life Bud light or Miller Light. Free beer of any brand is the best though.
If I am buying and they don't have miller light, bud light, or miller light, then its Captain Cokes, or nothing at all. Used to drink a lot of Jack and sevens but always seemed to get into fights when I was drinking it so I quit with the whiskey.
If I have had enough beer to be drunk enough that a shot sounds good it's usually Jagermeister.
Bartender got me to try one of the best tasting and unusual beers, had to try and find a local source. Its stocked at "Total Wine", used to be "Total Beverage", which made more sense but didn't sound stuck-up enough.
Get your wallet out and get some Gouden Carolus. They have four packs and something close to 20 oz bottle.
Also has a pretty high alcohol content, so you do get what you pay for.
Good luck
PS If you only drink Corona, Coors-Miller-Bud lights forget this stuff, its like a double cut filet at Morton's Steak house compared to a McD's hamburger
