roof light mounting question
roof light mounting question
I have roof light mounting screws on my '68 f250.
There is currently no headliner (sorry if that
is not quite the right term), so I can look up
from the seat and see the screws and wires for
the lights.
The screws look like traditional sheet metal screws,
relatively long and sharp things that point at
my forehead when I look up. I am wondering if
this is stock, and if so, what if anything can be
stuck on the screws to make them less dangerous.
[An answer may allow me put on a Carpenter headliner
with less guilt on my conscience.]
[I have also considered taking them off, but
at the moment am committed to making as few changes
to the body as possible to try to keep that funky post-
apocalyptic look.]
Thanks as usual!

roof light mounting question
Actually, my question was directed primarily
at safety, starting from the manufacturing perspective
and working forwards if necessary.
I am skeptical that wood or rubber would work well,
because in hot weather it could crack in a few weeks
or months. Guess it's not an easy question because
most folks still probably have their headliners
and won't take them off just to answer a silly question...
(I am also wondering why the text from my original post
got chewed up, too. Fancy escape sequences? Hmm,
maybe need to stay away from fancy characters and
minimize emoticon usage :-)

roof light mounting question
Go out and buy as many bottles of wine as it takes to have corks to screw in there. Then get really drunk and screw the corks into the roof of your truck. They will stay soft and the lovely smell of wine will fill your truck and is sure to be a hit with the state Highway patrol.
