The last good auction sale I was at was a Nelson auction last fall. It was on highway 2 just East of Saskamatoon. We picked up a 51 IH truck and a 61 Ford unibody.
Interested in another 51 IH 1 ton. Neighbvor has one to sell. It is mostly there. I do not know how much at this time, but let me know if intereted. He said it ran when he parked it. It was backed into the trees where it is now.
A 61 unibody would be really cool, I used to really want one! My uncle has my grandpas old unibody 3/4 ton truck, and I could probably get that, but I am just not into anything more then a 1/2 ton right now.

Just swap the front and rear axles for 1/2 ton axles and you will have a 1/2 ton with maybe a slightly stronger frame. The rest of the truck is mostly the same. If the rest of the truck is in good shape you`r good to go.
Oh yes, they did my friend.
I have personally seen a '61 Mercury big back window M250. It's a rare one for sure, and the guy who owns is it is a tinfoil hat wearing sort of guy, but they did make F250 unibodies. All long boxes.
We have also had a 62 unibody for a couple of years it is pretty well fully restored. There is just something about that truck that really makes you grin when you driver her.
That pic ringo, looks exactly like my grandpas old truck, except my grandpas is yellow, and has cab lights. And that is a good idea fom, but just because it was my grandpas truck I wouldnt really want to swap anything out from it, keep it original for his sake. Otherwise great idea though, get newer brakes and suspension and fit it all underneath, would be really cool!
